After spending the first year of the pandemic writing songs that looked out towards the chaos of the real world, Four Dollar Piece spent 2021 looking inward instead.
FDP, consisting of Paul MacMichael (vocals/guitar/programming) and Peter Koza (guitar/vocals), sat on their first EP, Vertigo, for a full year waiting for a semblance of normalcy to return, and instead of twiddling their thumbs, wrote even better songs with bigger riffs, catchier hooks and more poignant and honest lyrics. On the band’s first track of 2022, Chewing on Styrofoam, you hear exactly that: a skull-splitting main riff, pummeling drums and layers of harmonies as Paul sings about the co-existence of his anxiety and tinnitus. Chewing on Styrofoam drops June 8th, with more music dropping throughout the summer.
